Veggies for the desktop

EVER FOUND it tough to complete the child's holiday assignments without those crucial pictures ? Chances are, most parents go hunting for "picture charts'' to do the assignments for their children, which can range from festivals of India to the pollution problem.

Cutting and pasting pictures from glossies is still the cheapest option, but there is another solution : Photo CDs.

One of the companies putting out such "CD solutions'' is Marito Corporation. Its latest disc, on ``Fruits, Nuts and Vegetables'' is a production that is particularly focussed on the young learners.

The photos, some of which can be downloaded from www.maritocorp.com, are drum scanned images that can also be printed on photographic paper if necessary.

With a product line of CDs on eclectic subjects like Indian Monuments and Landmarks, Flowers, Taj Mahal and Indian Miniature Paintings, Marito has been catering to various sectors, providing royalty-free images, says Mr.P.V.Badrinath, the company's chief executive.

Such pictorial productions could also be used on several computers in schools for learning and presentation purposes, as they are royalty free, it is pointed out.

The availability a bundled browser and low-resolution images for web and multimedia presentation use, is highlighted as useful value added to the CDs (tel: 4849721).
